Lip Flips to enhance the shape of the upper lip

A series of injections just above the upper lip into the orbicularis oris muscle, which surrounds the mouth, can result in shapely, beautiful lips.

The injection relaxes the portion of the muscle over the upper lip temporarily, causing the lip to roll upward slightly so that it appears more voluminous and defined. This procedure also smooths vertical lines across the lips.
 
Most patients notice the effects within a few days of treatment, with best results showing in about one week. The effects last 3-4 months.

What our clients want to know about Lip Flip

A series of small injections made with a thin needle to targeted muscles, just above the upper lip. It relaxes these muscles as the solution starts to work, which allows the upper lip to roll upward and be more noticeable. Properly called, the upper lip is actually flipped by a Lip Flip. If requested, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the intended treatment area. This treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

After your appointment, a list of post-treatment guidelines will be provided. It is important to obey these post-treatment guidelines for at least 48 hours after your treatment. Some guidelines about post-treatment can include:
  • do not consume alcohol
  • avoid certain OTC medications and supplements
  • do not use Retinol products
  • no rubbing the treatment area
  • avoid strenuous activity
  • no excessive sweating or heat
  • avoid exposure to direct sunlight

Additional instructions can be given by us such as how to use ice or cold compresses during the recovery time. In order to help healing, we can also recommend products to be used after treatment.
